Olly’s Dawn till Dusk Golf Challenge

This summer, local golf enthusiast Olly will take on an extraordinary personal challenge — golfing from sunrise to sunset in support of Cancer Research UK Jersey.

Set against the backdrop of La Moye Golf Club, Olly’s Dawn till Dusk Golf Challenge will be a test of determination, stamina, and spirit — all to raise vital funds for life-saving research and cancer awareness across the Channel Islands.

Why He’s Doing It

“In recent times, cancer has affected the lives of close family and friends. Witnessing some of the pain, determination and resilience of people I care about has stirred me into action to try and make a small difference. That is why I’m now committed to this crazy golf challenge — raising awareness and as much funding as possible for the incredible charity that is Cancer Research. Their ground breaking work offers hope to so many, and I want to do everything I can to support their mission to beat cancer for good.”

What’s Happening on the Day

• Sweepstakes: Guess how many birdies, pars, balls lost, or holes completed — and win prizes!
• Fancy Dress Sponsorship: Suggest a costume and sponsor Olly to wear it on the course.
• Comedy Club Challenge: Donate to see Olly take a shot using props like a frying pan, cricket bat, or umbrella.
• Guest Stories: Cancer survivors and families affected by cancer will join Olly for a few holes and share their stories throughout the day.
• CRUK Awareness Table: Visit our clubhouse team for materials, donation links, and friendly support.

Why It Matters

Jersey continues to face high cancer rates. According to the latest government data:

• An average of 1,058 malignant cancers are diagnosed annually in Jersey.
• Non-melanoma skin cancers make up 42% of all diagnoses.
• Breast, melanoma, and head & neck cancers have higher incidence rates than in England.
• Over 4,700 people are currently listed on Jersey’s cancer registry.

Every pound raised through Olly’s challenge supports education, awareness, and crucial support here in Jersey — as well as contributing to national research efforts to beat cancer for good.
